Physical Description

Deeply grooved fig-shaped pommel (MS note by AVBN in IBE says it is probably associated), modern wooden grip; guard comprising horizontally curved quillons with fish-tail terminals, small shell pierced with two hearts and on the other side a complex four-bar thumb-guard forming a pas- d'ane [now called arms of the hilt]. Stiff, triangular, hollow-ground blade.
