Physical Description

The breastplate has a low neck, a medial ridge, a peascod and a narrow flange. There are gussets at the arms. The main edges have roped inward turns bordered at the neck with a recessed border and adorsed volutes. At either shoulder is a rivet, also securing the gusset, for the shoulder straps. The top of the right gusset is missing. It is screwed to its mount. The morion is of one piece with a pear stalk at the top and a flat brim extended to a point at front and rear. The main edges have file-roped inward turns and narrow recessed borders. Around the base of the skull are fourteen round headed brass capped lining rivets with brass rosette washers, one missing. At the rear is the remains of a brass plume holder. There is a crack at the right and a suspension hole at the rear of the brim. It is bright but patinated.
