Physical Description

Modern steel hilt comprising ovoid pommel, straight heavy quillons with round terminals. From the underside of the square central section a U-shaped guard extends toward the point, a right-angle bend forms a ring-guard.
The straight blade is double-edged ending in apoint and bears a short, narrow, central fuller.

This Inv. No. is included on a list (filed at the front of the first class IX IBE vol.) of class IX objects disposed of in November 1965: 'Cross hilted Sword.'.
Blade is noted as being similar to that which is on IX.23 (q.v.), however that waparticular sword was sold off/disposed at some time.
