Transferred from the Rotunda Museum of Artillery, Woolwich 1979. Stated in the Rotunda catalogues to be from Rhodes, and if so presumably acquired with other Rhodes material by by Sir J Lefroy in 1867.

Physical Description

Leaf-shaped head attached to the shaft by a socket and a pair of langets.

Date of manufacture inferred by Rotunda Catalogue provenance is before 1522.
The Typed Inventory gave the number stamped on the haft as 1877. This is almost certainly wrong as the Rotunda no. is clearly 1677, but the actual number appearing on the haft SHOULD BE CHECKED (PJL).
