Physical Description

It has a deep peascod, a medial ridge and an integral flange at the waist with a roped arch at the centre. The neck and arm edges have plain inward turns, with recessed borders at the arms. The flange has 3 pairs of rivet holes at either side, and there is an additional pair of holes at either side of the arch. There are two large holes with possibly lead grommets at either arm for later attachment of shoulder straps. It is black from the hammer, etched and painted gold with the Medici arms (azure 6 balls or) and with a Maltese cross at the bottom. It is stamped GP for the Pisan Gioco del Ponte.
