Purchased from the Beriah Botfield collection at Norton Hall, Northamptonshire, with the aid of the National Art Collections Fund, 1942 (Norton Hall No. 34).

Physical Description

Short triangular blade with medial ridge near the base. From the base two long lugs spring upward at an acute angle, these have an obtuse point near the centre of their outer edges. Tapering socket with two langets which are broken, there are signs of a repair where the head meets the socket. Modern shaft covered with red velvet, modern tassel.
