Notes

Bowles and Carver were active 1793-1832, but this print shows old London Bridge and the Tower Wharf as it was about 1750. It is probably therefore one of those advertised by John Bowles, 1753, possibly 'The south-east prospect of London from the Thames, shewing the Tower, Custom House, London Bridge etc.' [Adams, 'London Illustrated', p. 456] Many of these were reprinted by Bowles and Carver, about 1800.
