The comb, which increases in height at its apex, is turned to the right, while the brim has a plain, inward turn, axccompanied by a recessed border originally containing twenty round headed lining rivets of which all but the rearmost are preserved, but are probably replacements. The base of the skull is encircled by sixteen lining rivets. Attached by a pair of rivets at the nape is a plain, iron plume holder.
