Physical Description

It is of roughly hemispherical form, made in two pieces brazed around the crown and down the rear. The lower edge is plain mand bordered by a rectangular slot at the front. It is covered, and the lining holes filled, with thick crazed black paint. There are two dents at the left and a small one at the right.

Notes

The brazed seam at the rear is cut in dovetails; There is some evidence that the edges of the crown seam are also cut in dovetails. These dovetails may actually be retangular tabs overlapping a straight edge and filed down after brazing.
