Physical Description

Engraving entitled: 'L'operation de couler le Metal Fondu dans les Moules', showing the furnace and the metal flowing into the moulds, with details of the irons used to control the flow, the finished castling and the saw necessary to cut off the gun-head. 'Goussier Del.', 'Benard Fecit'. Plate 16 of the illustrations from the article 'Fonderie des Canons', from the 'Encyclopedie', edited by Denis Diderot and Jean Le Rond D'Alembert, 1762-1777. Trimmed, mounted and framed, with an English caption in the lower left-hand corner, 'Casting in the Bronze Foundry'.
