Tower arsenal. Accessioned while on loan to Intelligence & Security Group (Volunteers) (Loan L53) Spring 1987.

Physical Description

It is made of two pieces joined in a low comb and riveted on the brim, which is narrow and slopes down at either side. The main edges has a plain inward turn. The base of the skull was bordered by 14 round headed lining rivets with square washers, of which two are missing, retaining part of a narrow canvas lining band. The brim is drilled with two large suspension holes at the front and rear, broken open at the front and dented twice at the rear. It is painted black overall.
