Physical Description

It is narrow, with a slight medial ridge, formed of six upward overlapping lames, widening towards the lower end, and cut away at the crotch. The upper lame has a small step at its inner edge. The upper lame has a small step at its inner edge. The upper and lower edges have roped inward turns and the side edges have file roped partial turns, with recessed borders at the side and lower edges. The subsidiary edges are decorated by double incised lines. Each lame has a V-shaped nick at either side of the articulating rivets along its inner and outer edges, The lames are joined to one another by round-headed sliding rivets with circular internal washers at the outside, and by internal leathers at the centre and inside. The single column of rivets of the central leather are flush, retain fragments of leather and are hidden under the overlaps of the lames. The single column of rivets with round internal washers at the inside now pass through construction holes formerly occupied by dummy rivets, thereby securing the lames to one another rigidly. A fourth column of rivets has been crudely added between the central and central and inside columns to secure the lames even more firmly. Five externally flush lining rivets originally bordered the lower edge, from which two are now missing. One externally flush lining rivet originally bordered the inside edges of the first, second, fourth and sixth lames. A fragment of the leather lining remains attached to the inside rivet of the first lame, while the inside rivets of the second and fourth lames are now missing. One extremely flush lining rivet was also originally placed at the outside edge of the first, second, third, fifth and sixth lames. A fragment of the leather lining remains attached to the inside rivet of the first lame, while the inside rivets of us the second and fourth lames are now missing. One extremely flush lining rivet was also originally placed at the outside edge of the first, second, third, fifth and sixth lames.
