Physical Description

With rounded shoulders, slightly shaped to the spine, with a narrow flange at the waist with medial cusp. The neck opening is broad and moderately deep, the arm openings both broad and deep. The main edges are inwardly turned and file roped, symmetrically about the centre at the neck and waist, asymmetrically at the waist, with sunken borders at the neck and arms. At either shoulder, low down, is a rivet hole for the attachment of a buckle. Low at either side of the waist is a rivet hole for the attachment of a waist strap. At either side of the neck is a pierced suspension hole. There is a crack at the left shoulder blade. It was painted black overall. The paint was then removed in December 1990 by conservation.
