Physical Description

All steel one-piece hilt and bayonet with plain wooden grips. The grips are attached to the hilt by two steel bolts and meet the pommel at a diagonal angle. The pommel has a 'T' section groove,for attachment to a bayonet bar,and an internally sprung press stud. All steel crossguard with vestigial forward quillon and rear quillon with a muzzle ring 15.5 mm in diameter. The blade is single edged with a single fuller on each face. An all steel scabbard survives with mouthpiece,frog and ball finial. The frog is marked with two groups of two horizontal lines. The pommel,crossguard and scabbard are all heavily blued.
