A roped ridge bordered above and below by v-shaped grooves runs from behind the point of the elbow to the start of the pucker. At the centre front is a vertically aligned pair of rivet holes for the attachment of the connecting leather; one contains a modern rivet. Behind the centre rear is a rivet hole for the other connecting leather, also containing a modern rivet.
The upper and lower edges are crudely pierced with later wiring holes. The outside is bright but patinated.
