Physical Description

The single plate is shaped to the inner arm with a concave curve at its upper edge towards the inside of the elbow. The upper and lower edges have file-roped inward turns accompanied by recessed borders. The outer side edge has, at the top and bottom, a rivet hole for the attachment to thr outer plate of the cannon. At the centre of the plate a rivet retains externally fragments of the leather fastening strap. The plate is pierced at the wrist, probably for the wiring of a gauntlet. It is painted black overall.
