Physical Description

The single plate is shaped to the inner arm with a concave curve at its upper edge towards the inside of the elbow. The upper and lower edges have file-roped inward turns accompanied by recessed borders. The outer side edge has, at the top and bottom, a hasp of a hinge for the attachment to the outer plate. The inner side edge at its centre has a circular sprung stud to engage a corresponding hole in the outer plate. It is painted black overall.
