Physical Description

The single plate is shaped to the inner arm with a concave curve at its upper edge towards the inside of the elbow. The lower edge has s file-roped inward turn accompanied by a recessed border. The upper edge has a similar turn accompanied by a groove. The outer side edge, towards its upper and lower edges, has a rivet hole (the lower one retaining part of a rivet) for the attachment of hinges. The inner side edge, at its centre, has a circular sprung stud, with a large internal washer, to engage a corresponding hole in the outer plate of the cannon. The plate is pierced at the wrist, probably for the wiring of a gauntlet. It is painted black overall. The side edge is cracked around the sprung stud.
