Returned from a loan, 1989.

Physical Description

It is very slightly shaped to the spine, with a shallow neck, deep arm-openings and a narrow flange at the waist. The brass-clad edges are bordered by thirty-two large, near-conical brass rivets (of which one at each side is missing), with large circular internal washers retaining fragments of the leater-lining band. At each shoulder is an elliptical slot for the attachment to the breastplate. Low at either side of the waist is a brass mushroom-headed stud with a circular internal washer for the attachment to the breastplate.
It is lacquered on the outside and painted black inside.
