Returned from loan to Dover Castle 1989. Associated with III.3401-2 and IV.1572.

Physical Description

Comprising a single plate at the front and rear, each with a raised neck. The side edges of the front plate meet in a fairly sharp point, those of the two rear plates in an obtuse point. The main edges have plain inward turns, bordered by single incised lines at the neck, and with recessed borders at the outer edges. The plates are joined by a round-headed rivet with a square washer with cropped corners at the left, and fastened at the right by a mushroom headed stud and keyhole slot.
The exterior is bright and slightly pitted. At the centre rear is a pierced suspension hole. slightly pitted.
