Physical Description

Brown, leather-covered, straight wooden scabbard with leather shoe and nickel-plated mouthpiece. The upper half of the leather has been left unstitched. A band of leather encircles the scabbard, just below the end of the neck of the mouthpiece, which would, when the scabbard was finished, form a raised band in the leather to seat the scabbard in the frog (compare IX.3409).


Condition on acquisition: Fair/Good (some scuffing which has an extensive white deposit).
