Physical Description

Bright blade with a top spike of diamond section, a crescent-shaped hook, diamond-section back spike with cusps at the base, and two small flukes at the base of the blade. There is a short, rectangular shaped socket and medium length langets attached with three nails at either side. The blade is decorated in pointille with a rectangular panel on the lower back of the blade, incorporating a Classical bust in a circular medallion, and at the base a rectangular medallion with a landsknecht holding a spear at one side and a warrior in Roman armour, probably mars, holding a spear in the same pose at the other side. There are holes at the top of the langets from a previous attachment. The haft is modern.
