Physical Description

The decoration includes a Roman warrior seated being crowned by Fame while a chrub holds his helmet. On either cheekpiece is a girl holding a conch shell. The main edges are cut off and replaced with riveted repairs. That of the peak retains its roped turn.

The decoration is based on the burgonet no. H.255 in the Musée de l'Armée, Paris. The original (plain) helmet is close in form to the burgonet decorated by Adrian Collaert of Antwerp, RA no. iv.569.
