Physical Description

It has a cut-out at the neck, shallow arm-openings and a medial keel terminating in a triangular facet just above the waist where it originally had a deep flange which has subsequently been trimmed. The neck, arms and sides only have a plain inward turn. The edges are bordered by twenty-eight large brass round-headed rivets, with circular internal washers retaining fragments of a canvas lining-band, of which the five at the flagne are a subsequent modification; traces of the original rivet holes are visible beneath. The edges are also bordered by numerous pairs of holes for stitching on the missing leather edging for the attachment of the lining. At either side of the chest is a large brass mushroom headed stud, with circular internal washers fro the attachment of the shoulderstraps of the backplate.
The outside is bright.
