Physical Description

The breastplate has a low neck, a medial ridge and a point at the waist which has a wide flange. The main edges have plain inward turns bordered by single incised lines, but with recessed borders on the flange sides and tassets. At either side of the chest is a swivel hook and pierced stud for the shoulder straps. Joining the tassets to the flange are four hinged hasps permanently attached, rounded at top and pointed at the bottom. The tassets are of one piece construction, embossed to simulate six lames, and decorated with three rows of rivets ending in triangles at the bottoms. It is painted black.
