Physical Description

The watered steel blade is curved and single edged. Evidence of a mark in gold on one side. The langets are short. The quillons have ram's head termionals. The forward quillon has a gold tassel attached. The grip is ivory bound around the lower half with a gold cord. The pistol shaped grip has a ram's head termonal. The ram's head, the quillons and the langets are silver enamelled in blue, green and purple. The knuckle bow is a string of silver and green beads (broken). The scabbard is wood covered with tooled and gilded leather in a floral pattern with Arabic inscriptions. The chape and the suspension loops are both decorated in enamel en suite with the hilt.


Dimensions: The length of the blade is 780 mm. The overall length is 930 mm. The length of the scabbard is 802 mm. _ Weight: The weight of the sword is 0.860 kg. The weight of the sword and scabbard is 1.245 kg. _
