Barrel stamped on left of breech with crowned GR over Broad Arrow and crown over crossed sceptres. Stamped on right by pan: crown over 12 Lockplate engraved with royal cypher and TOWER, and stamped with crown over Broad Arrow. Buttplate heel and top of lockplate marked: 37 REG (superscript T with stop below) and running at right angles below the 3, GR over 12. Sideplate flat stamped: TM . Butt stamped on right: B over 5 ; [C]7 over 18[3]0 (i.e. C7 over 1830, the C and 3 uncertain). Underside of butt to right of guard stamped twice with crown over [3]5 (i.e. crown over 35, the 3 uncertain).Ramrod groove: rear section: [L]T (i.e. LT, the L uncertain, possibly I); MOXHAM ; C ; HI .
