Physical Description

A large brass casting accommodates the lock and trigger mechanisms and forms a U-shaped shield around the underside of the barrel breech and the rear trigger guard tang. A heavy brass trigger guard is attached to this by two screws. A thin tapered iron ramrod passes through the action. The action of this type was known as 'a la mandarin'.
