Physical Description

The backplate is shaped to the shoulders, with a slight flare at the waist. The main edges have plain inward turns, bordered by round headed brass lining rivets with washers, which retain fragments of the leather lining band. Four of these are missing. At either side at the waist are two rivet holes for the attachment of the waist straps. At either shoulder are six rivet holes (one drilled twice) for the attachment of he shoulder straps.
