Physical Description

The helmet is made in two parts, joined by rivets at the brim and in a comb, which widens at the crown, over the bowl. The brim is broad and curves down at either side, The main edge is inwardly turned over wire with a sunken border originally containing twenty-two brass lining rivets with square internal washers, of which two are missing. The bowl is bordered at the brim and comb by double incised lines above the rivets and at the brim by eighteen brass lining rivets of which two are missing. Two of these rivets at the right and two at the left have square internal washers. At the rear the plume holder is missing but was attached by two rivets.
The outside of the pot is bright and the inside is painted black. The cheekpieces are missing. There are traces of leather for the cheekpiece inside the skull on the right hand side. The comb is pierced by a single hole as is the right hand border.
