Physical Description

Broad, leaf-shaped hollow blade. [No description in IBE. This description taken from IBE for VII.3, to which this example is stated to be similar]
The hollow blade has a short socket which extends into the head and is continued to the reinforced point as a medial rib. Socket attached to haft by 2 rivets. The mark (see below) appears above an etched (or engraved?) panel of a Tudor rose enclosed in a shield-shaped frame and surmounted by what appears to be a debased 'mantling'. hollow blade has a short socket which extends
