Physical Description

With a raised neck and narrow flange at the waist. The neck- and arm-openings, and the lower edge of the flange, have inward turns. At each shoulder is a plate for the missing shoulder strap, secured by 2 domed rivets and with fragments of the leather strap. The left strap is shaped rather like an inverted 'V', the right is rectangular with the rear edge cut into 2 scallops. At either side of the waist are two rivet holes for the attachment of the missing waist strap. Each shoulder is pierced by a later suspension hole.
It is patinated externally and rough from the hammer internally.
