Physical Description

It has a raised neck, a medial ridge and a narrow flange at the waist. At either arm is a mushroom headed stud for the shoulder straps. At the left side is a belt hook, and at the right a large hole for the matching one. There is a proof mark at either side of the chest. The exterior is black from the hammer. At either shoulder is a later drilled suspension hole.

Inscriptions and Marks

Stamped N and helmeted A at the neck, and a small Maltese cross below the left arm. Inside is a construction mark, XX and 3 wedges.
