Physical Description

Short waisted with raised neck, rounded shoulders and short flange at the waist. The edges of the neck, arms and flange have plain inward turns. There are remenants of modern shoulder straps at each shoulder comprising a single sqaure plate; each riveted to the backplate with two rivets. There are several additional sets of rivet holes for previous shoulder strap attachments. Low at either side is a pair of rivet holes for the attachment of the waist strap. Riveted at the right side is a pierced stud for a subsequent swivel-hook fastening. The same fitting at the left is broken off. At either side of the neck is a pierced suspension hole. Both corners of the flange are bent and damaged. The exterior is heavily pitted and this has broken through at the right shoulder blade. The exterior is coated with layers of paint and varnish.
