Physical Description

One-piece almond-shaped skull with upstanding 'pear-stalk' at apex and slightly downward swept brim with narrow countersunk border and roped inward turn. Seven of the original thirteen brass-capped lining rivets survive encircling the base of the skull; all of which retain part or all of their original decorated copper alloy washers. Two rivets are present at the rear for the attachment of missing a plume holder. Minor damage to the apex and on the front left side of the skull. Minor crack to the back left of the brim, patched and riveted from the underside. The back of the brim has been pierced for suspension.
