Physical Description

The head is a long quadrangular spike that flares and becomes hollow-ground forming, in effect, four flanges towards the base. This is connected to the octagonal socket by a a number of mouldings. The entire head and socket is covered in floral koftgari in gold. Below the head is a plain iron ferrule. The shaft is very slender, entriely painted with foliage in gold on a dark green ground. At the butt is a another ferrule before the shoe, that matches the head in having an octagonal socket, mouldings, an octagonal button and a spike. Again, all but the spike are covered in gold koftgari.

Dimensions: The length of the head and socket is 441 mm, the shoe is 272 mm and the shaft between is 1560 mm. Weight: The weight of the spear is 0.614 kg.
