Notes

Produced by rolling the blade when the metal is 'cherry red'.
Acquired, as part of a collection of over 200 items connected with sword manufacture, and related books and archives, from Kent Sales, April 1987. The collection was made by and was formerly the property of Mr George Seymour, 41 The Broadway, Thorpe Bay, Essex, who appears to have acquired at least some of the items from Wilkinsons (Sword Manuafacturers) to whom he was latterly a consultant.
