Physical Description

With a pronounced medial keel terminating above the waist. The waist is level, with a broad flange drawn down to a blunt point. The neck edge is outwardly flanged, and the other edges plain having been cut through the original rivet holes. All the edges are closely bordered by pairs of small pierced holes for the attachment of a lining by sewing, and apart from the shoulder edge, all are bordered by large domed brass headed lining rivets, without washers. At either side of the chest is a brass mushroom headed stud for the attachment of a shoulder strap.

This seems to be the 1804 modele which has been cut down to a smaller size and converted by trimming the flange to conform with the 1807 modele cf III.1790.
