This was one of the two trumpets of this set of six which were used to play the Monarch's fanfare at the opening of the Royal Armouries Museum, on 15th March, 1996. The other trumpet was XVIII.90. The players on that occasion were Crispian Steele-Perkins and David Edwards.
XVIII.87 was again played by Crispian Steele-Perkins during a concert at the Royal Armouries 'Let the Bright Seraphim', part of the 'La Battaglia' series, on Thursday 15th May, 1997. A copy of the programme of this concert, autographed by Mr Steele-Perkins, is in the inventory file for this group of trumpets.
