Physical Description

The short blade is double edged for the last third of its length, with a broad back and an angular curve at the centre. The hilt is of pistol-grip form, with side pieces of horn, a medial band of silver decorated with engraved scrolling foliage, and slender silver gilt quillons with faceted arms and terminals.


Dimensions: The length of the blade is 535 mm, the length of the hilt being 127 mm. Weight: The weight of the sword is 0.565 kg.

Inscriptions and Marks

The blade is inlaid with three medallions in silver, one of which contains the date 'sanat 1240H'.
