Handed over to the Royal Armouries' ownership after Police Amnesty of 1988.

Physical Description

The handle consists of a pair of horn scales secured to the tang by three brass rivets and a straight cross-guard.


The straight, single-edged blade has a false edge for the final 2 1/2 in. (64 mm). The inside face is etched against a frosted background with the motto 'NEVER DRAW ME / WITHOUT REASON NOR SHEATH ME / WITHOUT HONOUR' surrounded by scrolling foliage. The brown leather sheath has a separate leather suspension strap stitched on the outside (i.e. opposite the seam side) for belt suspension.
