Physical Description

36 arrows with dark bamboo shafts with applied red painted wooden nocks. Each arrow is fletched with four feathers and is decorated between the fletchings and beyond with diapers and plants in gold on red and green bands. There is one major band in white decorated with a geometric arrangement of flowers and leaves in gold with black outlines. At the foot is a further section of decoration of red and green bands with diapers in gold. All of the heads are quadrangular with fullers down each face, the lower corners being reccessed and small octagonal sockets.

Dimensions

Dimensions: The length of the shafts is 685 mm, the length of the heads being 65 mm. The diameter of the shafts is approximately 67 mm. Weight: The weight of each arrow is 0.034 kg.

These appear to be a set of war arrows with heads for piercing mail. Five of the set are broken.
