Physical Description

The blade is curved and single edged, with a ricasso. It is etched on both sides with scrolling folige, and with the inscriptions 'GOOD LUCK' and 'PURE STEEL'. The brass hilt has an eagle headed cap pommel connected by a chain which forms a knuckle guard to the forward one of two quillons, terminating in dogs' heads. The scabbard is of bblack leather, with a locket and chape of brass, both decorated with pairs of annular lines, the chape terminating in a ball finial. The leather is tooled with pairs of saltires.
