Provenance

Transferred from Bristol City Museum in 1966 and replaces a Chinese spear head disposed of by sale in 1966.

Physical Description

The head consists of three blades of flattened diamond section rising from a semi-eliptical base attached to the socket. The two outer blades are flamboyant and each has an engraved blossom at the base and the remains of gold line borders in overlay. The socket has the remains of longitudinal bands of foliage in silver overlay.
