Physical Description

It has a raised neck and a medial keel terminating in a point at the waist, which dips down to the centre and has a narrow flange. At either arm is a mushroom-headed rivet stud for the shoulder strap. The neck and arm edges have plain inward turns. At the left of the chest is a proof mark.
It is painted black. At either shoulder is a small drilled suspension hole.

Inscriptions and Marks

Stamped M for the maker and with a large circular mark. Inside a pair of wedge-shaped construction marks. Painted on flange in white 177.
