This lance was held by the figure of Richard, Duke of York, which was in the Horse Armoury, behind the Line of Kings. He was wearing the dwarf armour Class II.126 and the wooden head of the fuigure is XVII.48. The figure is clearly visible in Ackerman's engraving of the Horse Armoury.
A carousel lance (one of a pair with VII.1666) was formerly bore the same inv. number as this lance, VII.1667. In July 2000, the carousel lance was re-numbered VII.1966 A (PJL).
