Physical Description

Comprises a head in the form of an almost parallel sided spear blade with a medial ridge, below which is an octagonal section, pierced for two transverse bars. The bars are of rectangular section, split at the ends for the crescent shaped side blades that are rivetted in place. Below the cross bars there is an elaborate moulding, a baluster shaped section, a further moulding and the socked. The head is fitted to a round shaft of stained wood.
