Physical Description

Hilt of iron consisting of a pommel shaped approximately like a diamond with rounded corners and of rectangular section. It is set on the tang diagonally. Straight quillons of rectangular section, 292mm long. Straight, double-edged blade rounded at the tip and with a shallow fuller of about 254 inches long near the hilt. The whole is very heavily corroded.

Pommel of Oakeshott's Type F, which he dates 1175-1275, see also his fig.95. The quillons are of his style 1, and the blade is of his type XIIIA which he dates about 1290-1340.
