Physical Description

The head of this object is of pierced and engraved brass, of bilobed outine contained within a solid brass frame. The inner panel is decorated with dragons and clouds, the sacred jewel, a sword and scroll as well as a water gate with a sacred carp. The outer frame with a carp, flowers and precious objects. At the top centre of the outer frame is a cast dragon's head. The fan is held in the mouth of another cast dragon's head attached to the vase shaped socket. The shaft is of red stained wood.
