Excavated in Nottingham, October 1851 with IX.7955 A and IX.7957. J. Hewitt, 'Official Catalogue of the Tower Armouries', p. 54, Class 9, nos 3a and 3b (now IX.7955 A and IX.7957) says the objects were 'found in excavating for the formation of Public Pleasure grounds'. 'Archaeological Jnl' 1851 says the objects were 'found during the previous month [october]. with two skulls and other human remains, at a depth of three feet, in a field adjoining the new baths and wash-houses outside the town.'.
